Malta, 5th December: The Poseidon Foundation (“Poseidon”), a non-profit which develops climate change solutions, is proud to announce a partnership with VIVOBAREFOOT Switzerland. The company strengthened its reputation as one of the world’s leading minimalist and natural footwear brands by integrating Poseidon’s reduce platform into the point-of-sale systems at a new concept store in Zurich, and also in Lucerne.
VIVOBAREFOOT’s initial reduce integration will automatically rebalance the climate impact of select product lines purchased instore, with plans to include online purchases in the near future. The integration provides a voluntary option for VIVOBAREFOOT customers to match the company’s efforts to protect trees, support communities and preserve vital biodiversity by adding personal donations to conservation projects supported by the reduce platform.
Laszlo Giricz, founder and CEO of the Poseidon Foundation, said, “We are delighted to be partnering with a fantastic company like VIVOBAREFOOT that understand the urgent need to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions. Already they are working to be as climate positive as possible—they have vegan shoes, shoes made from ocean plastic and they are rigorously fair-trade. We’re honoured they have chosen the reduce platform as an integral part of these efforts.”
This partnership follows the success of reduce’s retail pilot in Ben & Jerry’s London Scoop Store, which funded the restoration of degraded lands of small farmers and native communities, and protected more than 5500 trees in the Cordillera Azul National Park, Peru over a six-month period. reduce’s integration with VIVOBAREFOOT will further support the Cordillera Azul National Park, which is a REDD+ certified project, managed by Ecosphere+.
